The Playhouse of San Antonio and The Marcsmen Present:

All Is Calm

This is the story of the Christmas Eve Truce of 1914. Written by Peter Rothstein, with a cappella musical arrangements by Erick Lichte and Timothy C. Takach, this musical tells of the events of Christmas Eve, 1914 on the Western Front, when a German soldier took a bold step toward No Man’s Land, singing the German version of Silent Night. His action led to a historic night of peace and music that broke down enemy lines, if only for one night. The Playhouse of San Antonio and The Marcsmen are partnering to bring this amazing musical event to San Antonio.

All Is Calm will be presented from Friday, December 2, 2016 – Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Russell Hill Rogers Theater in San Antonio.

However, for one special night, Saturday, December 17, 2016, All Is Calm will be followed by A Marcsmen Christmas with Vocal Spectrum. This is a Double Feature that will be the a cappella event of the year in South Texas!

This one-night event will feature:

  • All Is Calm, the Christmas Eve Truce of 1914 in its entirety, plus
  • The Marcsmen, San Antonio’s Premier Men’s A Cappella Group, and
  • Vocal Spectrum, the 2006 Barbershop Harmony Society World Champion Quartet
